The cosmetic industry historically uses vegetable materials to make its products. Indeed, raw materials from plants were first used. But in the 70’s, it is the petroleum products and silicones that are widely used. Today and since several years, the vegetable one makes its return.

The respect of the environment is more and more important, so the use of vegetable materials in large quantities can have boundaries. One solution to this problem is the use of biosourced materials.

On one hand, cosmetic actors are turning to biosourced ingredients in order to move towards greener and more environmentally friendly processes. On the other hand, consumers are looking for claims that correspond to their values as well as for cosmetic products with innovative feel.

Linking sensory innovation and green processes is not a simple task, but it is without counting on our supplier Primient who has developed the Texturlux® range: biosourced materials, made from corn and manioc.
